Coaching for Singers

Improve your singing and performance

Performing at a professional level requires more than a good voice. The key is understanding how to naturally move in song — the rhythm of the language, how phrases are shaped, and the connection between the words and the emotion behind them.

How you deliver a song — your confidence, stagecraft, and connection with the audience — is what makes the difference between a good performance and a professional one. These are learnable skills, and that’s what I can help you with.

What we cover

  • Technique basics – pitch, tone, breath, timbre
  • Phrasing and flow — singing naturally
  • Diction and vowel placement – using the words to hit the notes
  • Emotional delivery — telling the story behind the lyrics
  • Repertoire — choosing and shaping songs that suit your voice
  • Microphone technique – using your instrument
  • Stagecraft — body language, audience connection and stage presence
  • Confidence and mindset — performing at your best

About me

I’m Stirling Austin — a baritone singer combining jazz, swing, soul, and classic pop.  Over the past 20 years I’ve performed across the UK and Europe, both as a soloist and leading my 10-piece Swing and Soul Band.

I’ve worked with singers at all levels and seen how the right focus — on delivery, stagecraft, and stage presence — makes the difference between a good performance and a professional one.
